ABOUT YOGA WITH MARIANNE

Marianne’s love for yoga began over 13 years ago, when she moved from Scotland to Bristol in 2007, at that point she had no idea how deeply she would fall for yoga, and Bristol! A keen adventurer, climber and cyclist, yoga became a tool for life, helping her to discover and learn more deeply about her body and mind. Yoga has brought her so much joy, Marianne is passionate about sharing this, and inviting others to be inquisitive and connect to their bodies.

Marianne went on to qualify as a yoga teacher in Bristol, UK, teaching energising hatha and vinyasa flow and slow flow classes predominantly.  Her intention as a yoga facilitator is to help empower others to tune in to their own bodies, developing a feel-good yoga practice that is unique to them, whether it is for someone looking to build strength, or find deeper relaxation, or someone who is just curious to try this yoga business out! Or any other reason.  She would love for you to come and join one of her classes.

Marianne qualifications/trainings:

  • RYT 200hour Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher at Bristol School of Yoga

  • Trauma Awareness Workshop, led by Ashley Russell (mental health nurse and senior yoga teacher)

  • Yoga Nidra training (40hours Yoga Alliance recognised)

  • Currently completing: HPD in Clinical Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy (fully qualified in December 2021)

  • Currently completing: a Diploma in Mindfulness

Marianne’s teaching style

Marianne's teaching style is empowering, playful, embodied, explorative, intuitive and nourishing.


Her classes are both energising and ,indful, with a focus on creative, fluid movement, breath awareness, deepening your connection with yourself and finding that sweet spot of softening and building heat in the body.


You can expect to build strength and flexibility, to soften and find ease, cultivate deeper body, mind and breath awareness and find a mindful movement practice that works for you. 

Marianne also has a keen interest in the following:

~ trauma sensitive approaches to yoga, and yoga for mental health

~ yoga nidra (yogic sleep) and the power of rest

~ authentic accessibility: community and outreach yoga classes

~ yoga for climbers

~ the power of yoga in injury rehab and prevention;

~ pregnancy and post-natal yoga

She is very keen to offer pre and post natal yoga sessions in the future. Watch this space!
